SHORT 'N' SWEET
-Today’s post will be short and sweet because that is how I am feeling-
Recommendations without explanation:
MOVIE: Tampopo
COLOR: Teal
PLANT: Jade Tree
ANOTHER SONG: Who Knows Where the Time Goes cover by Nina Simone
DESSERT: Fereni but in ice cream form
DINNER: Singapore Street Noodles » actually I just make up my own recipe and this looks pretty close. I do egg at the beginning and add shrimp.
ANOTHER DESSERT: Homemade peanut butter cups » honestly I don’t think this is the right recipe, but my friend made them and I ate them all so can’t be sure.
BRAND OF PEN: Le Pen but the colorful pack
I’m currently planning out the rest of my year and its all very exciting albeit overwhelming but in (mostly) the good way. Have recently seen and gotten to spend time with a lot of really beautiful friends thanks to my dear bud Liam entering into a new decade, the Elastic Arts annual benefit, and the more frequent sunshine here in Chicago. Leaving for tour soon-
*~TOUR~*

I want to tell you all about a very special project with my dear friend, Robyn Mineko Williams. It is titled, “Hisako’s House”, and it is an indescribably beautiful piece that explores (the following description is taken from her website) “her Japanese American lineage, her family's experiences surrounding the incarceration of WWII and the intergenerational ripples of trauma, love, and resilience that followed. The project blends archival research, dance, film, music, interviews, and documentation and will be shared as it unfolds: part live performance, part documentary film.” I have had the deepest honor to be making music for this piece, and am working with my dear friend Chris Wood on the install. The music and sound is all composed specifically for this work, and I feel some very deep gratefulness for how open Robyn has been in the creation of the music. It has been an honor to hear the stories of her family, both recorded and first hand, and see her choreography and movement inside of the house this piece revolves around. I *highly* encourage you to check it out- let me know if you would like a link to RSVP. It takes place at her grandmother’s house in Lombard June 2-4 and June 10-11.
