Japan Tour/Seoul Photo Diary
Few words, many photos, so much fun + a bonus field recording from a walk I took in Kyoto
I’ve just gotten back from FINOM WORLD TOUR aka we played 5 shows in Japan and one in Knoxville (at Big Ears!). It was a thrill- I’ve never been to Japan before, but its been a dream of mine (and Finom’s) for over a decade. I have so much to say, and so much to process, but for now I will leave you with these few words and photos in my Substack. I’ll write more later for you later.
ALSO : Finom announced our new record, “Not God”, and released our first single, “Haircut”, this month! Click to watch the insane video directed by the genius, Alex Grelle.
(PS paid subscribers scroll down to the bottom for a field recording of a beautiful walk I took through Kyoto)
^^ This is a video of Sima and Zulal walking through the Shibuya Scramble. Its an intersection in Tokyo where thousands of people cross at once.
I am trying to get into the practice of listening and recording moments in my life where I am silent but the world around me is loud. I took a solo walk through Kyoto and wondered what a recording of my own personal movement through a city would sound like. Here is the result- it might end up on something in the future:
